Sign up and additional details for volunteering at DC Central Kitchen

Registration Instructions:
 
Step 1: Create your account in our Volunteer Portal here: https://dcck.appianportals.com/dcck-volunteer-registration  
  
Step 2: Please select “Create an Account for Group Registration.”  

Step 3: Follow the correct prompts to proceed. When you choose “Type of Volunteer Experience” be sure to select Corporate/Organization. Then search for your group “MedStar Georgetown University Hospital” in the portal.

Step 4: Continue to fill in the additional requested information. 
 

Step 5: Digitally sign our General Liability and Waiver form. Note: The COVID-19 Vaccine Attestation form is optional.

Step 6: You will receive an email from “Appian for D.C. Central Kitchen” including a temporary password and a link to create your permanent password.  
 
Final step: After logging in, Select the “Sign Up” tab at the top left of the screen to go the calendar and view shifts. Select the February 7 Afternoon Food Prep Shift then click the button to sign up. After Completing this, You are signed up and all set. 
 
Sharing some additional information below:
 
Dress Code:  
1.            Long pants (no skirts, no shorts)   
2.            Closed toe shoes  
3.            No tank or halter tops, no dresses  
4.            Hair must be up and out of face. (We will provide hair nets.)   
5.            Masks are not required; however, they will be available for those who would prefer to wear them.  
  
Parking Options/ Transportation:  
Our address is 2121 First Street SW, 20024 [google.com] located in the Buzzard Point neighborhood behind the Audi field. Our front entrance is on V St between First and 2nd St.  
 
·                  We are located closest to Waterfront Metro Station (Green Line).
·                  We have a Circuit shuttle that runs every 15 minutes between Waterfront Metro and our facility Monday through Friday between 6:30am - 10:30am, and 3pm – 7pm (Weekends from 7am-11am and 3pm-7pm).
·                  There is also a metro bus (Bus 74) that runs between the Waterfront station and directly in front of our facility.
·                  James Creek Marina Parking Lot – open lot ENTRANCE ON 2ND & V Street ($20 Daily)  
·                  Atlantic Parking Garage @ The Stacks ($25 daily or $15 if in before 9am) – covered garage ENTRANCE on 2nd Street
·                  Colonial Parking Garage ($50 daily) – Covered garage ENTRANCE on 2nd Street next to The Point DC
·                  Bike Racks are located on our site if guests would like to transport via bicycle (Each guest would have to provide own locks to lock bike)
